Who we are
Emily
I’m the one who runs the site and writes most of the content. By day, I’m a nurse practitioner in the emergency department. Planning trips is my favorite past-time and this blog is my passion project.
I spend months leading up to a trip researching where to stay, what to do, and where to eat on countless blogs and popular travel websites. All of that research is used to curate our trip itinerary, complete with everything from what time we need to leave for the airport to where we will be getting ice cream each night (yes, sometimes it is every night). When we get home, I spend even more hours updating that itinerary with how we spent our days and compiling a detailed guide of our recommendations. My goal for this website to be your one-stop shop for all things travel planning.

Joseph
My current job is sales for my family’s business. Before my current role, I spent a few years in the corporate world as a consultant, traveling every week for work, and became intimately familiar with the ins and outs of booking travel while maximizing credit card points and perks. I consider Emily to be the “micro-planner” and I prefer the “macro-planning” side of traveling. I like to book flights and hotels that get us the best value out of credit card perks, sign-up bonuses, and travel points. Basically, how we go on better vacations for less money out of pocket.

How we got started
We discovered our love for traveling after we got married in 2017 on, of course, our honeymoon. We spent a week in St. Lucia and a week in Sonoma, California. This was our first solo trip that we got to plan from start to finish. On the long plane ride from St. Lucia to San Francisco, we decided to make a list of “must-dos” in St. Lucia (that list will never see the light of day…practice makes perfect, right?).

On that plane ride, we floated around the idea of someday starting a travel blog. Fast forward 5 years and we’ve continued to make detailed lists of recommendations after every vacation. We’ve sent these “guides” to countless family and friends, and as our travel portfolio expanded, the 5 year old idea of starting a blog started to materialize.
Favorite destinations
Our traveling style has evolved over time. Ten years ago you could not have convinced Emily that vacations were for anything other than finding a chair on a beach and not moving for the next 8 hours. Today, we enjoy a balance of adventure and relaxation on our trips. Some of our favorite destinations include hiking in Switzerland, exploring Kauai, and sipping Chianti in Tuscany.

Our content
We like to be active and organized on our trips, which we understand is not for everyone. Our itineraries are jam-packed and meant to help you experience the most on your vacation. If you don’t want to plan a single thing and enjoy staying busy, follow the itineraries to a T and you will never find yourself looking up the top 10 places to eat for dinner on Yelp at 5 PM when everyone is starting to get hangry. If booked and busy is not your M.O., customize the itinerary to your preferred travel style. If we don’t have an itinerary that fits into your travel plans, use our detailed guides to develop your own! We hope you come back to reference our blog anytime you ask yourself, ”I wonder what we should do in ****** ?”.
